Kelly Rowswell is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in New York State with experience in community mental health and non-profit settings. She earned her Master of Social Work from the University at Buffalo and her B.A. in Psychology from the same institution. Before entering the mental health field, Kelly worked in the finance industry, bringing a unique blend of clinical insight and maturity to her therapeutic work. Kelly uses an integrative, client-centered, evidence-based approach to therapy with individuals working through trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, attachment issues, life transitions, and relationship patterns. Her therapeutic approach offers a collaborative, warm, empathetic, safe space for clients to comfortably work toward their goals. Kelly draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), schema therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness techniques to help clients develop insight and support their growth and healing. Clients working with Kelly will be empowered to explore their past and how it influences their present, build awareness of interpersonal patterns, recognize what may be holding them back, and implement coping mechanisms to manage thoughts and emotions. Kelly individualizes her approach to each client's needs while recognizing how overlapping identities and environmental factors influence mental health and lived experience. She believes therapy is a space for reflection, growth, and healing, and works alongside each client to develop lasting change.
